![]() Interview: Science Division's interactive tribbles.Beautiful concept art for Picard and Discovery tit.La Sirena comes to Star Trek Online, plus other ne.TNG tech from the cancelled Build the Enterprise-D.Lastly, the Battle Module 4000 provides a passive boost to Critical Hit Chance and Accuracy. The EMP Burst will be disabled in this mode, but a Swarm Missile System is revealed. But that's not all! When fully engaged, the Battle Module 4000 will transform your ship, opening several ports and conduits and improving your weapons and engines. Like the D'Kora, the Quark Marauder is a tough ship on its own, but the Battle Module 4000 lets it show its teeth – and we all know that "the bigger the smile, the sharper the knife." The Battle Module 4000 enables your ship to fire an EMP Burst, which will drain the power from pursuing enemy ships. The ultimate in military hardware, the Battle Module 4000 ensures your Quark Marauder is fully equipped to protect all your investments. "Home is where the heart is, but the stars are made of latinum." To get you there safely, the Quark Marauder comes standard with a Battle Module 4000. The ships abilities also mirror those of the classic Marauder, with the ability to extend out parts of the ship in "Battle Module 4000", and fire an EMP Burst or Swarm Missiles: In addition, while this console's effects persist, all of your Bridge Officer Abilities will recharge much more rapidly. When activated, the neuro-cotamic interface allows your starship to project several independent holographic copies of the La Sirena into nearby space that will aid in combat scenarios for up to 30 seconds, assaulting nearby foes from multiple directions simultaneously. Most modern starships come equipped with an enormous array of holographic projectors, and all can be designed to work with this piece of technology. The Fundamental Field Replicator mimics the holographic fleet sequence from the final episode: You'll notice we scaled the window down to illustrate this. It's significantly bigger, about 30-40 meters longer, so that it can be considered a "capital ship" in STO. The STO version is not the same exact type of ship as the original La Sirena. He also notes they've adjusted the scale a bit: There’s less than a month to go before the expansion and plenty to do in that time that isn’t sandcastle-related, such as fighting a Borg war.STO's Thomas Marrone has confirmed ( on Twitter) that you can change the colour of the pattern, so you could have some real fun customising this already distinctive design. I might explore some more of Risa in the coming nights, but my captain isn’t here to lounge around - she wants adventure, and lots of it. Maybe I need to use it in a different area, but even after equipping it on Risa, the icon was grey. ![]() ![]() I was disappointed that I couldn’t get my Back to the Future hoverboard to work. It took about three minutes, so that’s not terrible, but 24 more days? I might come to deeply resent it. That’s like a month of regularly logging in to do the same track over and over again. You only get 40 a day and need 1,000 for the ship, so you do the math. This is a once-per-day activity that nets the other event currency, and it’s this currency that’s used to buy the T6 ship. The other activity is taking a jet pack (floater) out for a ride along some tracks in the sky. I did an artifact hunt (not fun) and a dance party (more enjoyable if repetitive), but the store offerings weren’t particularly thrilling, so I can’t see doing a lot more of that. Basically, there are a rotating series of events through which you can earn favor, a currency to spend in a special store. While it was my first time there, it wasn’t too difficult to figure out how things worked. As expected, it’s a very pretty resort-type zone that oozes relaxation and vacation vibes. I beamed down last night to check it out and was pleasantly surprised. Very alien-ish, although it does appear to have a cool console that could go great in my other ship. This year’s ship is a T6 escort that doesn’t look great nor horrible. Plus, it’s one of the very few times of the year where you can earn a high-tier ship without paying money, and Syp is all about the freebies. So normally I wouldn’t make the journey out to Risa in Star Trek Online, everyone in the community really talks up the summer event as being this can’t-miss thing. Juvenile jokes and Ferengi passing around tiki statues to try to get some action… no thanks. What really turned me off to these episodes is that they usually tried to bring out sex and humor in them, two topics that Trek almost always floundered in approaching. Trek tried to make this planet out to be some kind of ultimate tropical resort, although it didn’t seem particularly better or worse than any nice Florida beach. Even when I was fully into my Star Trek phase, I can’t ever recall being entertained by any of the Risa episodes.
